PEmicro USB Multilink ACP  --  On-Chip ARM Debugging Interface

The USB Multilink-ACP  simplify the task of programming and debugging ARM Cortex M0-4 target systems. They allow a PC to communicate with a target processor through a high-speed USB interface at the PC and a debug port at the micro. The PC can then control the microprocessor via the debug port of the target. The Multilink ACP is able to provide communications with a variety ARM MCUs.

With suitable software the Multilink ACP can be used to program the flash memory of the target micros and to debug code running on them.

If you are unfamiliar with the use of "On-Chip-Debugging" we have a short tutorial

For users who want the cheapest Cortex debug cable USB Multilink ACP

It supports ARM Cortex M0-4 currently for the following families:  ATMEL SAMxxx, STM32, NXP M0,M3,M4, NXP/Freescale Kinetis (all), S32, TI-Stellaris LM3S,LM4,TM4C12xx, Infineon XMC4xxx, Maxim 716xx, Silicon Labs EFM32,SiM3, Cypress PSoC®4, Toshiba TX00,TX03,TX04 as well as a wide range of on and off chip SPI and off chip flash memories.

And has  these features

Fast, hassle-free USB 2.0 communications interface

Draw power directly from the USB port – no external power supply needed

Multi-voltage support for targets ranging from 1.6 to 5.25 Volts

Target Frequency: 16Khz-50Mhz

For those who want the fastest chip downloads the USB Multilink Universal FX

For Synchronous architectures such as the Cortex M4 the communications link on the Multilink Universal -FX can run at 4 to 10 times faster than the ACP interface.

And in addition it can provide 200 mA power to target MCU and it provides  I/O line clamping for added protection

Both these units have extensive software support

By adding the appropriate PEmicro PROG software for the CPU of your choice these units can program Flash memory and EEPROMs on the chip or attached to it.

If used for program development support for the Multilink-ACP and FX as target links is included in recent versions of toolchains from many NXP/Freescale partners including Atollic, CodeWarrior®, Keil, Cosmic, and Green Hills (check with vendor for device compatibility). For use with GDB  a free GDB server is available

The Universal + PROG  combination makes a good Flash programmer for development and small batch production  --  if you want a volume production tool perhaps to integrate into an ATE system you should consider our Cyclone range of programmers.
